I’ve really liked the last two generations of Sony’s Walkman NWZ headset range and most recently reviewed the NWZ W273. Now Sony has taken its headset onto the next level with the NWZ WS610.
There are two headsets in this range.
WS613 Walkman – RRP £130 4GB of built in storage
WS615 Walkman – RRP £170 16GB of built in storage
Both will be on sale from mid-October.
The built in storage is accessed like a USB stick – just by connecting the headset and your PC. You can drag music across easily.
This new version of Sony’s comfy headset expands on the built in storage by including Bluetooth, so you can listen to your music right from your smartphone while you’re jogging or working out. So you could listen to your own tunes, Spotify, YouTube, or even the radio. And you can take handsfree calls too. NFC is here too – making pairing with a smartphone easy.
You can use Sony’s SongPal app to control the Walkman from your smartphone, allowing you to browse stored tracks by artist or album and tweak sound settings. A variety of settings are available to enhance the sound quality, including Clear Phase, which provides realistic sound, and Clear Bass, which provides dynamic deep bass without distortion.
We’ve got a call in for a review sample, of course, and are looking forward to testing.
