Withings has expanded its already comprehensive health and fitness ecosystem once again with the launch of the Aura at CES in Las Vegas. The Withings Aura will track every aspect of your sleep and use that data and understanding to ensure that you wake up fresh.
The Aura is made up of two parts. The sleep sensor is placed under the mattress and monitors your movement, breathing and heart rate during sleep. The other half of the equation sits at the bedside and controls your sleeping environment both visually and audibly.
The bedside device will create the perfect lighting and aural environment to help you fall asleep, while also waking you in a non-invasive manner, ensuring that you start the day feeling refreshed and rested.
All the data gathered about your sleep patterns is sent to a new Withings app, where you can visualise and analyse it to your heart’s content. The basic data is also sent to the Withings Health Mate app, to complement all the data from your Withings Pulse and Withings Smart Body Analyzer.
The Aura will learn from the data it gathers and adjust the way it sends you to sleep at night and wakes you in the morning. You can also manually customise the Aura using the app.
The Withings Aura will be available in the Spring with a price of $299 in the US. I’ll be requesting a sample from Withings as soon as I return to the UK, so check back soon for a full review.
