Misfit Wearables has launched its innovative Shine activity tracker in the UK.
The Misfit Shin is flexible enough to be worn anywhere on the body, as small as a 50 pence piece, functions in water, and can tell the difference between swimming, walking, cycling, tennis, football and other activities. It’ll even monitor your sleep patterns.
It calculates calories burned, and logs your progress towards daily goals.
Its built in battery can last for four months.
The Shine is made from metal and a light halo running round its circumference shows your progress during the day and you can tap it to see detailed information.
The free app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch can synchronise data over Bluetooth.
The Misfit Shine will be available in November from John Lewis for £99.
Of course, we plan to test one as soon as we can.
I have not heard about this little gadget so far, but seems to me a pretty cool thing. Curious to read more about it.
What is the Shine tracking when you swim? Does it track heart rate, distance, or strokes per session? I do interval based workouts with multiple sets that last 75-90 minutes; would it work for this or only lap swimmers?
