ASICS says there have been 122,251 global downloads of the MY ASICS mobile app on iPhone and Android so far, and 12,999 in the UK alone.
The Android and iPhone app is free. The app is a mobile companion to the online service found at my.asics.co.uk. It allows your mobile phone data to sync with your online running logbook. Your training plan is also available through the app, so that your schedule, phases and upcoming runs are accessible at the touch of a button.
Of those using a MY ASICS training plan ASICS says 73% will go on to run a longer distance than the distance they first signed up to and 30% of runners who started using MY ASICS for distances shorter than a marathon eventually ran a full marathon.
The app has recently been integrated with Facebook so you can share progress with friends and family and encourage support on your journey of improvement from your nearest and dearest. Timeline activity is shared on Facebook, so friends and supporters can add comments and stay up to date.
MY ASICS includes customised training plans that reflect fitness, age, gender, goal time, and distance. There are plans with up to four days a week of training, as well as working up to marathon, half marathon, 10 mile, 10k, 5 mile and 5k races.
