Two new devices have been announced by Fitbit.

The Fitbit Zip (pictured) will be available in five colours (magenta, lime, blue, charcoal, and white). It is a new style of Fitbit device, but still does the core job of capturing activity stats in real time including steps taken, distance travelled and calories burned. It is designed to help encourage you to walk more and be more active, wherever you are.

The Fitbit Zip is Bluetooth Smart compatibile. It can sync automatically with Bluetooth Smart Ready devices, such as the iPhone 4S, via an updated iPhone app so that you can track your stats and compete with friends on the go in real time.

The Fitbit Zip is about the size of a pound coin, and you can view your latest stats simply by tapping it. The Zip is sweatm rain and splash proof and comes with a standard replaceable battery that lasts for up to six months. It comes with a small silicone clip that it snaps into so it can be clipped snugly onto the inside or outside of clothes.

Priced at £49.99, Zip will be available at and major retailers including Apple Stores from 1 October.

The Fitbit One is similar in looks to the Fitbit Ultra. It measures steps taken, distance travelled, calories burned and stairs climbed as well as sleep quality. A new feature is the Silent Wake alarm that gently vibrates when worn on the wrist to wake you up without disturbing your partner. Simply schedule the alarm online from a computer or via a mobile dashboard.

As with Zip, One also features Bluetooth Smart compatibility so can sync all your stats in real time to Bluetooth Smart Ready devices like the iPhone 4S.

Small and sleek, One fits comfortably in your pocket, or on a bra or belt and is available in black or burgundy. It also features a built in clock and displays motivational messages that keep you on track to meet your goals.

Fitbit One™ will cost £79.99 and will be available in retailers such as Amazon, John Lewis, Carphone Warehouse and Firebox from 22 October.
